For some odd reason I am really into cleaning right now and having new nice smelling cleaning products makes it so enjoyable. With the pandemic the stores have a limited selection of cleaning products on their shelves so I have started ordering some of my cleaning products. For a couple of years I have wanted to try Grove Collaborative cleaning products but I have been leery of trying them because of it being a recurring subscription, every thirty days you receive a new shipment. I have read both good and bad reviews and was worried about not being able to easily cancel. I contacted a friend to see if she had any experience with the company, she had not but knew a friend who had. She contacted her friend for me and she gave Grove rave reviews; she had actually canceled but rejoined because she liked the product so well. That gave me the confidence to try Grove Collaborative.
I also spent several days researching online and on YouTube and I done a live chat with Grove to make sure I understood how the shipments work. I ask several questions and the representative was very polite and answered my questions. The one question I was most concerned with was if I would be able to cancel at any time. The Representative told me I can cancel at anytime but it is best to call them and cancel and not to rely on email or their online form.
On your first order you get free products but you have to make a minimum order of $30, future orders will have a minimum of $27. The free products I ordered were Mrs. Meyer’s Hand Soap, Dish Soap, Multi-Surface Cleaner, and Grove Collaborative Walnut Scrubber Sponges. I was able to select the scent I wanted for the free items so I chose Acorn Spice.
They will start sending me emails a week before the next shipment ships. I can go into my account and change the items I would like, change the date, or even choose not to get a shipment that month. I don’t have to wait on the email, I am able to go into my account and make changes now. I have already picked my product for my next shipment. I can make any changes until the day they start processing my order.
Because of the delays at the post office there was a delay in the shipment of my order. I thought it would be a good time to call and check out customer service by phone. I got a representative on the phone right away and she was very kind and answered my question about the delay in the shipping plus I ask her about changing the product for next month. She explained how to use the shopping cart and also told me to call back in two days if I did not receive a status update from the USPS. So far I am impressed with their customer service.
My first order was shipped in a timely manner but was delayed by the post office. I called Grove customer service back and they reshipped my order that day. I received it 3 days later.
Before posting this I waited on my second month’s shipment and I am supper happy with the ordering process and this time it came quickly.

I know I will most likely not need $27 worth of cleaning products monthly but for now, as long as it brings me joy, I am going to continue the monthly shipments.
If you decide to join Grove Collaborative it is important you keep track of your shopping cart and remove the products you don’t want on your next shipment. They add the things your ordered in the last shipment but it is easy to change the list. I found that if I removed the items I didn’t want and added enough to meet my minimum purchase that they didn’t add anything else to my cart. Just make sure you check your cart before the next shipment is due. I received both a text and email to remind me to check my cart.
